Just tried to join fotolia. Filed out all their required information and created a username and password. I got into the members area and could not upload so i went to the faqs for answers. I found completely wrong info citing links that did not exist. I discovered I needed to validate and complete 'training'. I eventually found the confirmation email in my fotolia mailbox (they did not even send an email to the real email address I gave them) and confirmed. Found the training under a link not listed in the FAQ and completed that. there was still no way to upload a file and the upload link listed in the FAQ was non existent! I then decided to log out and log back in to see if this would update my info and allow me to upload images. Nope. I logged out and then tried to log back in only to find that it told me my user name and password did not exist and would I like to register (insert expletive here). I have never had this much trouble with a site before. They don't inform you what steps need to be completed as other sites do, nor do they provide easy links to necessary steps to complete. To top it all, once you have logged out, you can't get back in. Useless site and slow as hell to boot!!!

I completely agree for the most part. Fotolia just made major changes to their site that has left it even worse for flow. I have always believed that they would work things out, but it sure is taking a while. The speed thing has always been a problem.

The few things they do have going for them is a good multilingual setup and a huge database of images. I completely hate the submission system, but continue to submit because the sell a good amount of image. (BTW: This also has fallen off since the new version, but I am confident it will come back up).

FOTOLIA is in proces of tranition to V2, so uploading is temporarly disabled. They are fixing bugs, and it will be operational soon.
