I recently upload some of my photos on www.veer.com. I noticed that the watermark veer places on the picture is quite small and can be easily brushed away. How will I ever know that somebody didn't just copy my preview photo and used it without buying it? This site has visitors from all over the world. I find it difficult to understand how the licensing works. If someone from Kazakhstan uses any of my photos on his website without my authorization, I bet will never find out.

IMHO, switch to a site which puts a better watermark on the images.

Agreed. I find that about 50-60% of my downloads come form "web sized images" A watermark is your only defence against missue of images at this size.

I actually saw an image in a magazine with an agency logo (I think 123RF) watermark still slightly visible. Send a message to the company and recommend that they improve the image.

Interestingly the images from Veer Marketplace vs. the images from its macro section are much better protected via watermarks.

It doesn't hurt to use www.tineye.com/ to help track unauthorised photo usage.
Does anyone know of any other free web services like this?
