I am a stock photographer that has been researching the industry for quite some time now and am in the process of building a new micro stock site.

I want to get the very best photographers to submit to the new site. So my question is...

What do you look for when you are looking to submit your photos? What features are important to you? What would you like to see that you don't already see at other sites?

I look for a clean easy to read website. It should not be packed with ads, as to me that says the website creature wants income from ads and not photos. Having an FTP upload and ITPC is a must. If you have categories then it is nice when you can repeat the same categories from another photo, saves much needed time. Another thing, I feel is important is for a new site to have a low payout min. If it is set at 50 or 100 why would a photographer join a new site and wait for a long time to get payouts sense it would have small traffic flow at the start. Hopefully that is helpful.

Though I do believe adds are essencial for a sites early survival, I agree that it should not be the first priority nor should it take away from the photographs on the site. I won't be using any adds on the photo pages themselves.

Yea, to me that would be a good payout number. Also I don't have issues with ads as long as they are not popups and are in your face. I also agree with you that they should not be on the page where the photo displays.

I agree . I hate pop up adds. Something small that has to do with the page it is on and out of the way of the main content.
