Are you going to be listing free stock sites? I saw your requirement that a site sell images for less than $20 in order to be listed.

Anyhow, you can't beat http://www.sxc.hu/ Thats were my avatar is from.

I have decided is listing free sites is productive or not. I start to think "OH NO!!" that make photogs make less money.

Then.... I look at them and say.... Sure... bring on those looking for freebies and we'll pick up a few extra sales because these sites sell "free stuff" that is worth nothing. Like most other things free

Some images on free sites are not necessarily worth nothing; a lot of amateur photogs who don't want to get into selling post stuff there and some of those images are stunning. A number of magazines use some of those images, as do governments. One of those free sites now has it's own magazine in print.

You might want to limit the number of free sites you have posted if you are inviting purchasers and designers to joing these forums.

While I do sell stock photos, I also contribute to the free sites because they provide education resources free.

The vote is still out on listing free sites. If I list them I think it will be on a per review basis. There is a lot of value to these sites, but I rarely use them personally so I will have to get some more opinions.

I think you'll find that most people who sell their images don't want the competition and don't want to have much to do with free sites; most can't understand why I give away some that I might be able to sell.

I call it balance - give some, take some.

At any rate, free sites will probably not be welcomed on somewhere like Microstock simply because if designers do frequent the site, the people who are trying to sell might think it unfair to point out sites that give away images.

Actually, some of my giveaways have made me money.

...I try not to post images I think are worthless, even on a free site. That's called being professional.
