Hi my name is Ray Goodwin I am 64 yrs. young and I am A newby and I do mean newby. I am retired and now have time for this hobby that I do love so. I enjoy shooting car shows, cars, airshows and airplanes. I would like to explore the microstock concept and have really only 1 question at this time. Do you pay to have your photos placed on the various sites or how does it work? Thank You for your help.

No! In my opinion you should never have to pay a monthly fee or something like this to list your photos. None of the agencies listed on this site work that way. On the other hand, they won't accept everything that you upload either.

Basically, you should pick an agency (I recommend starting with the top 3-4 on the rankings list for photographers and sign up for an account. They normally want to see a few of your stock photos (or illustrations) before they will accept you as a "photographer" Some are easier than others, but there is no harm in trying it.

Good luck.
