I finally got onto SS. I wasn't going to try anymore, but couldn't help myself when opportunity arised again. I've already made $10.00 off of a portolio of 55 in 3 days. How very exciting.

If you can afford the fee, this is the best deal if you consume a TON of images. I use 10-20 images per project with 10 projects or so a month. This is the best for me. iStock is to expensive.

I'm on my 3rd try to even get onto the site. They keep rejecting my photo's and 3d - but arent saying why. 'rejected -' I will keep trying, but it is not looking promising. Doing well on dreamstime though :)

I make a payout reliably every two months. They have recently become much more difficult to get photos accepted in. Their uploading process is also very easy. I can upload fifty photos in a couple of minutes. With Istock it would take all day. They prefer shots that they don't already have 10 million of. They are more lenient with unique ideas.

It is a great place for designers, but it's the pits for photographers. Illustrators and photogs who operate out of a studio with models can probably do well, but they are throwing away their quality at .25 or .30.

New photographers probably won't get past review - Unless you have sexy images.

I won't waste any more time submitting images to SS; everything they reject is accepted by other sites and generate sales for me - and I ge $.50 to $1.00. One site I found pays me $.90 to $3.00 per image. Those prices are not the special license fees - just standard downloads.

I, too, shoot landscapes and travel shots. I do not make as much at Shutterstock as those who shoot people or do great set-ups, but I have received two payouts, so far, and am happy. I have learned a great deal from the forum there, too.

Simply the best site if you can afford it. The subscription model works for me and the images are great. I like not worrying about how much it will cost. I always use 2/3 of my limit, but always get plenty of stock images and even grab a few extras just for the fun of it.

Most of my photos are nature-type photos. I'm no pro but I think my shots are technically good photos. I've had some success selling on other sites. All ten of my uploaded images were denied. Some lacked any comment; only 'rejected'. Others had generic 'noise, grain, subject, blah, blah' comments.

Apparently, most of the stuff they want is the typical generic handshake shots and highly photoshopped whatnot. I'm not feeling dejected, I'm just going elsewhere.

I've had very good success selling my images on ShutterStock. They are the hardest screeners, but offer good comments as to why photos were rejected.

Sales on this site are six times what they are on any other site. They are also very conisitent.

Good site to earn money. All the reviewers are enlisted from their forums.

If you are looking for a good place to buy stock images, Shutterstock is certainly the best choice. It only make sense if you use A LOT of images, but for me if is the best match.

I like not worry about how much I will spend buying stock photography, because my monthly limit is very high
