Anyone have advice for doing taxes and deductions for stock photography?

I have heard its dangerous to write-off trips and try to claim the photos as income.

Just make sure things are very well documented. I believe the most important thing is being able to show that you are actually making money off the photos and therefore the expense can be considered business.

I think also you have to show a "work day" being mostly business rather than a vacation day where you played with the fam.

Deductions are tricky at best.

Camera and computers are "listed" property, basically you need to have concrete evidence of what % of time it is used for business and what percentage is personal. There are a lot of deductions I don't take just in case I get audited. I know enough to get in trouble, but not enough to get out of it....
