Here is an exmplanation of how the ranking system works:

The stats are broken into three categories: In/Out/Pageview

Each Photo Site is currently ranked on the Out statistic, meaning highest ranked got clicked the most.

Pageview is the number of times the site badge (seen in the Listing section right now for those sites for which I have details) was seen. This would be displayed on their website.

The In ranking is the most common for these type of systems and probably what I will do if this site becomes popular enough to ask other sites to display the badge. Basically each site would have to put the MicroStockForum icon on their website. I will make it small enough to not be intrusive. It will have something simple like, "Vote for this site". Clicking on this badge would bring you to the rankings and add 1 to their stats. Right now, I think most sites would laugh at this idea, so I have set it to rank on outgoing clicks.

If I can't start the incoming ranking, I may just set it to rank on an internal vote. Adding a "vote for this site" on their details page under Listings.

I am still open for ideas with this. I like the ability of the smaller sites to have a higher rank if they take the effort to get involved. Thats while I am against the "Pageview" rank. Obviously iStock would win, wheres the fun in that.

Ideas? Thoughts?

By the way:

Each site also has a rate and review system (The thumbs you se on the top 2) You can rate a site and write a review in the stats area. I am going to do some work to emphasis this a bit better than it is now. I know all these statistics are kind of confusing.

Anther BTW:

As you may have noticed, the stats reset each month. I have changed the system to rank from the average per month, not the actually monthly totals. So things don't get tossed up at the end of the month.
