Nothing great abou this agency. Been around for a long time, but only 12% of my sales come from here. 5th in my ranking.

I have never been crazy about Fotolia's personality. They have a tendency to change the rules often. This year they have changed the photographer ranking system (determines your compensation %) and they have also dropped photographer affiliates (which they used to have a 5 year program for). On the UP side, they still sell more for me than any other microstock. They are just barely ahead of Dreamstime and 20% above iStockphoto. The submission process is still a pain, but its worth it. I know there are many photographhers and illustrators who have pulled their Fotolia portfolios because of the politics and lack of responsiveness, but I still "play the game" |

Great look, no image sales

Albumo seemed to get off to a great start. As mentioned in this article (Albumo, buy images while they are cheap) on Imagetrail, it would actually be cheaper to buy images from here than most other microstocks. Must be a marketing problem, because again, I like the looks of the site, but it doesn't sell any photos (I have had one illustration sales, but thats still not enough)

Slow and steady DOESN'T win any races

This is one of those mysteries for me. I wonder if its just my images that don't sell well on this site. The site is very professional and has millions of image, however, I only make 10-20 USD a month here. It is my sixth ranked microstock agency and I wish they would do something to kick it into gear.

Good start, bad finish

Yes, I got my first $75 really quickly, but I have not seen much in the way of image sales since then. As far as micrsotocks go, this is now one of the worst that I have listed with. The login control doesn't always work well. I type my username and password and the page never refreshes. I have noticed that if I just click the home page, it actually logged me in, just forgot to tell me. Not a good user interface.
