I've had fantastic luck with Dreamstime for the past 3 years. I don't have a ton of photos or designs uploaded, but even with a dozen or so images its pulled over $300 in sales... Thats probably chump change for some but its still cash for just uploading some pics and designs.

I've got a review and some tips for selling on dreamstime on my website:

This is certainly my favourite micro-stock site although it is only my second biggest earner as istock earns me more.

I have a 100% acceptance rate with Shutterstock but only 55% of images get accepted on iStock. Review time quicker at SS around 1-2 days but can be up to 2 wks at IS.

I do find I need to submit at least 1 image every 2 weeks with SS to keep the numbers up with sales. But with iStock I have found sales with my old images just keep growing whereas some of them didn't sell before.

SS sales (135 images) 350-450 downloads per month (average $0.33 per download)
IS sales (65 images) 90-150 downloads per month (average $2 per download)

When I started in 2005, this was the fastest place to make money selling stock images.

Submission process is still the best, but sales slump of quickly. They have soo man images I am not sure it is worth submitting anymore.

For a new agency, so far Deposit is the best. They pay you to upload there. And I actually got my first payment, so I know they mean it. Other agencies have done this, but this is the first itme I actually have gotten the payment. Worth checking them out. I have a portfolio of about 800 images. They didn't accept as many as I thought, but maybe that means they will survive.

Fotolia has been one of my top earners for a long time (currently in 3rd place). The thing I don't like about them is that they make randoms changes without very much notice. For example, they killed off their photographer referral program. They used to pay 10% for 5 years and then its all of the sudden gone.

Another gripe is their ranking system. You earn more percentage as your total sales goes up. These ranking brackets have changed. I was just about to make Silver and then they moved it up to twice the number of total images.

All this aside, they sell my images which is what matters most.

My favorite agency right now. Despite getting large like toher agencies, they hae managed to stary friendly. Sure they make a decision I don't like now and then, but they aren't rought about it.

Earnings are consitant, not wavering around like BigStockPhoto and StockXpert have been.

Used to be he best agency for starting with because everything was easy (submission, earning money). Now they are much harder on new photogs. Hard to get the first et accepted and harder to make consitant money. Portfolios at Shutterstock are more time sensitive than other places. If you don't keep uploading, earnings drop off quickly.

Shutterstock has the easiest photo submission process of any of the agencies. I have about 100 photos accepted. I have submitted about 200, so lots got denied. after the initial review process everything is straigh forward. My photos earned a lot at first and then tapered off with time.

I have been exclusive with iStock for 2 years. Overall I'd say they are where to be. They are number one for a reason, they are good at what they do.
Cheers.

This is the best agency for instant sales. Because of the way their search engine works, you will always sell more of an image in the first 2 weeks of it being accepted. Their submission process can't be beat.

They are pretty pickly with submissions and the reasons aren't always very helpful for they give for denying. Still one of my favorites and the forums there are a lot of fun. People play games to keep each other going in shooting new and creative images.

Worth checking it out!
