PostForum: Other Stock Photo Agencies   Posted: Sat Feb 24, 2007 1:25 pm   Subject: 123RF add points (like your credit card)

This is very interesting. I hope that it brings in more business. Every month I "just about" stop uploading to them, but I still have faith in their ability to pull in a few more customers.
PostForum: General Stock Discussions   Posted: Sat Feb 24, 2007 1:24 pm   Subject: Microstock monitor

I looks like a very useful tool. When I first started with microstock I spent 1-2 hours a day checking my stats, etc.

Now that the novelty has worn off, I spend very little time doing this. I try ...
PostForum: General Stock Discussions   Posted: Sat Feb 24, 2007 1:21 pm   Subject: New Micro Stock Site with cash prize competition

With only 3000 images online it hasn't hit that critical mass to make it worthwhile for most of use to submit images. I already submit to about 7 agencies and some of them are still a gamble.

I re ...
PostForum: iStockPhoto   Posted: Sat Feb 24, 2007 1:18 pm   Subject: Really really annoyed by the new disambigioution (sp) proces

I keep hearing that a new Image Manager may have the disambiguation process built in. Is there any news on this?

PS: I would as on iStock, but there are 500+ posts on the image manager and most of ...
PostForum: General Stock Discussions   Posted: Sat Feb 24, 2007 1:16 pm   Subject: Do you worry about piracy?

YES it hurts the income. In my opinion the little guy (eBay shopper) is my target market, if he buys 10,000 for $5. We all just lost out on a lot of money.

On the other hand, he will never use 5% o ...
PostForum: DreamsTime   Posted: Fri Jan 26, 2007 12:44 pm   Subject: Submitting vectors, etc

I don't mess with vectors anymore. I used to output everything I could and upload both ways to Shutterstock and iStock, but the way I see it, if you upload a 4000PX photo, then there are VERY few who ...
PostForum: Illustrators Corner   Posted: Fri Jan 26, 2007 12:42 pm   Subject: New Stock Site Just for Illustrators - great commissions.

I would also reduce the header size. You want them to soo the photos without scrolling, logos are cool, but your not selling a logo.
PostForum: General Stock Discussions   Posted: Fri Jan 26, 2007 12:41 pm   Subject: How much of your annual income is through the sale of stock

It's hard to guage annually as we've only been going a year and the difference between the early months and the latter months is significant. We run our microstock through our website design / graphic ...
PostForum: Other Stock Photo Agencies   Posted: Thu Jan 25, 2007 9:14 pm   Subject: StockXpert starting to sell more

I have noticed that my images at StockXpert are finally starting to sell more. This is great for me because they were the agency I "almost didn't do".

I really wish they would get their ...
PostForum: DreamsTime   Posted: Thu Jan 25, 2007 9:11 pm   Subject: Falling numbers on Dreamstime?

I have been making more than ever on Dreamstime, but I consistanlty submit there. I try and submit at least 15 images a week to each of the agencies and I have rarely seen a drop month to month. Janua ...
PostForum: Fotolia   Posted: Thu Jan 25, 2007 8:52 pm   Subject: Fotolia slower than ever

I must state yet again that I don't understand why Fotolia site is so slow, how can they be making money. Do people put up with it because they haven't found Dreamstime?

Honestly, they continue to ...
PostForum: iStockPhoto   Posted: Thu Jan 25, 2007 8:50 pm   Subject: Really really annoyed by the new disambigioution (sp) proces

A lot of people on the Yahoo group have just said forget it. I have to admit I hear designers all the time talking about the great thinks about "controlled vocabulary". I am still workin on ...

While surfing Google today, I came across this url: http://www.istockphoto.com/imageindex/index.html , It has a really plain breakdown of all the images on iStockphoto in very simple table format.

I don't have a ton of additional equipment, but then I do a lot of outdoor shooting. Simple strobes, some filters, bags, etc, etc, etc.
