Post License Mayhem!
Can you say, "HUH"?

It seems like in the last week ever site that I submit to has started (or finished) changing their licensing schemes.

1. iStock -> New licenses been floating for a while
2. Dreams -> New licencing started yesterday
3. shutterstock -> Adds and extended license today

And finally, I get on BigStock and they have added a million checkboxes to extend your licenses.
Mugs / Book, websites, software.... Etc,etc, etc

Do that many people use license outside the normal. I always opt in hoping for some extra money, and never end up selling.

Is this they way of the future for micro stock? I know there has been a lot of talk about starting a "new market" but this seems targeted and getting into some markets that normal stock goes.

Thoughts?? I am just crazy?

It does seem like there is a shift in licensing. I am not sure what to make of it yet. I just opt-in to everything and hope for extra money, but have yet to see anything different.

Sometime I wonder if photo buyers actually read the licenses. I think sometime my pic get used for things outside the actual licenses.

Of course, maybe I should read them more carefully so.

I think a lot of sites are trying to bring in a few extra dollars. Once the first one (iStock) takes a step, they have to follow suit
