Post www.photocase.com
Hi all,

I did a quick search for the microstock site that I work for (based out of Germany) and didn't find anything, so I thought I'd make a post.

We just relaunched with a new english translation, new features and new pricing (and payment) model. All the specific information about pricing and payment is available on the site in our Help/FAQ (the really dumbed down version is this: if you want to buy a photo, it costs 1. If someone buys a credit and downloads your photo, you get 60%. If you upload a photo and it is accepted, you earn free credits that you can use to download too...)

The keyword catalog isn't completely translated yet though, so search results will differ based on the language you use. We're working on this now, but it's a pretty big job, so won't be done before spring.

Also, images are accepted on an individual basis, not en masse (as in a portfolio for example). Take a look around, tell me what you think, like, don't like, etc.

If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to email me peter(at)photocase.com

Thanks for the post. Please tell us a little more about your stock agency. How many images do you currently ahve and how fast are things growing?

We are aware that startup agencies don't have 100k images, but hopefully you have got a good start on building a good image library.

What makes you stand out to designers as a god source for images?

Hi Mwookie,

We've currently got just shy of 80,000 images online, and we grow at a rate of about 70-100 images per day. You can follow the progress on our about page (http://photocase.com/en/about.asp).

As for your question about standing out for designers, the answer is: we like to think that we have a different style than many of the other stock image sites out there. Our catalog has a lot of fresh unique images that you don't usually see on some of the other big sites. We also offer subscription service, and individual image prices are very competitive.

Hi posters...

I'm submitting to PhotoCase...and having some fun. First go around I did the typical upload of a lot of stuff to see what they wanted. I often see phrases like "We look for unique images...", but just as often that's not the case - sites want traditional - saleable - images. I think PhotoCase is looking for stuff a little more on the edge. My acceptance rate is WAY lower at the moment than any other site...but I think I'm starting to dial in what they are looking for. if you consider yourself an artist, as well as a commercial photographer, you might check them out with a few outlandish images for fun and see where it goes.

Cheers,

Scott
